Affordable Eco-Friendly Ways to Maintain Your GLOW and Beauty, Naturally!

Beauties,
We love trying all of the new products and potions that come our way, but sometimes we like to go classic with homemade, natural beauty treatments. Fancy treatments for hair, skin and nails are undoubtedly luxurious, but sometimes the best beauty fixes can be found in your home!

We want to share 3 of our favorite GO-TO natural, homemade beauty remedies that actually work:

1. You've probably heard of using toothpaste to dry up zits.. It also works great when you use it to scrub the yellow stains off your nails that can result from wearing nail polish. Just put some toothpaste on an old toothbrush (we chose this all-natural Tom's formula that is made without sulfates — meaning that it won't dry out your cuticles!), and scrub away at clean nails. Your nails will look so fresh and so clean-clean that you can go without lacquer and still look polished.

2. If you've noticed that your skin has lost its usual brightness and luster, squeeze some fresh lemon juice onto a cotton pad and apply to skin.
Lemon juice is an acid, so it can act as a toner for dull skin. It has exfoliating properties, so it can help brighten the look of the skin. But, it can also be very drying, so make sure to rinse it off after ten minutes or so.
3. Apple cider vinegar removes clumpy residue in hair from product buildup. It also works excellently as a natural detangler. When used regularly in your natural hair care routine, apple cider vinegar can revitalize your hair, leaving it soft and smooth. The vinegar also works by closing the cuticle of the hair and makes your hair super shiny!

There you go Beauties! As easy as 1, 2, 3!

How To Get Smooth, Glowing Skin

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin radiant and smooth. You can exfoliate all year round at least twice a month. Whether it's bikini season or you just want soft, clean skin, exfoliating your skin from head to toe will get you glowing.

Many beauties exfoliate their faces but do not exfoliate other body parts. As the weather heats up and you get bikini-ready, you should exfoliate all over. Exfoliation is also important before  when rejuvenating winter-weary skin.
Supplies: Exfoliating Scrub or cleanser, Loofah, body brush or exfoliating gloves, Pumice stone, Body Balm or cream.
COMING SOON TO YAMERRA.COM:
Eco-Luxury Honey Vanilla Body Scrub
Instructions:
  • Before stepping into the shower, brush your dry skin .This will help remove the loose skin and prepare your skin for the exfoliating process. Begin with the soles of your feet, working your way up your body.
  • Get into the shower and wet your body from head to toe. Don't exfoliate your skin if you are sunburned or have any open cuts or wounds.
  • Use a pumice stone on your feet to eliminate rough spots and calluses.
  • Apply your exfoliating cleanser to your loofah or gloves. Begin scrubbing your body in a circular motion starting with the bottoms of your feet and working your way up. When you reach the bikini area, don't scrub too hard because the skin is very sensitive.
  • Be gentle on your face, particularly around your eyes and mouth. Use an exfoliating product especially formulated for the face, which is gentler than products designed to be used on the body.
  • Don't forget about your hands. You want them to look and feel soft and smooth too!
  • Rinse your body with lukewarm water, and follow with the coldest water you can stand. Apply a shower gel to soften your skin.

After stepping out of the shower, apply a moisturizing body balm all over.
Any of Yamerra’s Shea Hair and Body blends are recommended. Find one here. Exfoliation is drying to the skin, so you must keep your skin hydrated.

BEAUTY Rx: Did You know Eating Grapefruits can make your skin GLOW?

Beauties,

Grapefruit is one of the many citrus fruits I enjoy for breakfast. It is rich in vitamin C. But the Grapefruit is different from other citrus fruits because it has "lycopene" (big word eh?... yes- I had to look it up too!), a known cancer-fighting chemical. You can also choose to juice your Grapefruit and enjoy it as a liquid. The juice provides the same benefits as eating grapefruit itself. Grapefruit also has unique phytochemicals (a.k.a. bioflavanoids) that help promote skin health and general health.

" A Grapfruit A Day Emboldens the Skin"

You can also enjoy Yamerra's rich blend of Tangerine and Grapefruit from here. It really helps to alleviate conditions such as dandruff, acne and rashes. The Grapefruit extracts found in Yamerra's Be Bodacious Hair and Body Blend can alleviate inflammation. Yamerra's Be Bodacious also helps reduce acne and breakouts. Our blend is also recommended to reduce stretch marks and scars.

Be Bodacious is nutrient-rich, strengthening and refreshing... Try some!

Incorporate some power Grapefruit into your diet (permanently) and watch your energy levels rise and your skin start to glow!
